A Wedding Designed Around Every Detail
Some weddings are built around a venue.
Others are built around a color palette.
This celebration was built around thoughtful design.
From the invitation suite to the custom lampshades, linens, signage, and florals, every element worked together to create a soft garden-inspired celebration at Il Mercato in New Orleans.
The bride envisioned a palette of creamy neutrals layered with lavender, blush, soft purple, and vibrant chartreuse. The result felt timeless while still full of personality.
Beginning with the Paper Goods
One of our favorite parts of this wedding was seeing the floral design begin long before guests arrived.
The bride's mother, a graphic designer, created every piece of stationery—from the invitation suite to the welcome materials, rehearsal dinner cards, signage and printed details throughout the celebration.
Those paper elements became the foundation for everything that followed. We echoed the soft greens, lavender and delicate botanical motifs throughout the floral design to create a seamless experience.
Garden Florals for the Ceremony & Reception
Rather than relying on one statement installation, we wanted guests to discover flowers throughout the venue.
Soft garden arrangements greeted guests as they entered while floral moments framed windows, lounges and gathering spaces, making every corner feel intentional.
The flowers featured garden roses, ranunculus, campanula, orchids, hellebores, hydrangeas, allium, snapdragons and seasonal spring blooms with abundant greenery for movement and texture.
A Petite Bridal Bouquet
The bride carried a bouquet that reflected the overall design without overpowering it.
Instead of an oversized arrangement, we created a refined bouquet featuring white ranunculus, campanula and green hellebores that felt fresh, elegant and perfectly scaled.
A Floral Entrance into the Courtyard
Guests entered the reception through custom floral gates overflowing with garden blooms.
The installation welcomed everyone into the courtyard while offering one of our favorite photo moments of the day.
Custom Details Throughout the Courtyard
Custom linens, garden-inspired lounge seating, and floral arrangements transformed the courtyard into an extension of the celebration.
Large urn arrangements framed the outdoor bar while smaller floral moments connected cocktail spaces throughout the venue.
Every piece felt layered without overwhelming the architecture of Il Mercato.
The Tree at the Heart of the Celebration
The centerpiece of the reception wasn't a table—it was the bar.
Working around the existing circular bar, we designed and built a custom tree installation that became the focal point of the room.
Its natural trunk and expansive canopy softened the architecture while flowering branches tied the installation into the rest of the event. Guests gathered around it throughout the evening, making it one of the most memorable design elements of the celebration.
Creating installations like this requires extensive planning, engineering and floral mechanics, but the finished result feels effortless—which is exactly the goal.
Layering the Reception with Flowers, Lamps & Candlelight
Reception tables featured flowing floral garlands accented with custom green pleated lampshades and candlelight.
The lamps added warmth and intimacy while the florals created movement across each table rather than keeping flowers confined to traditional centerpieces.
This combination gave the room an inviting atmosphere long after sunset.
Designing Weddings That Feel Personal
The most memorable weddings aren't defined by one floral installation or one beautiful bouquet.
They're created when every detail works together—from invitations and signage to florals, lighting, linens and furniture—to tell one cohesive story.
This Il Mercato celebration is one of our favorite examples of how thoughtful design can transform an already beautiful venue into something completely personal.
