Complete with garden urns, handmade floral trees and for the cherry on top, our gorgeous chuppah covered in flowers.
handmade floral trees for an Il Mercato Tasting event
We love a good entrance installation over here at Leaf + Petal NOLA. I mean, what better way is there to greet your guests than with a statement making floral piece, perfect for the 'gram.
Obviously we're biased, flowers are a great way to greet guests but so is champagne. Flowers and champagne, best friends forever.

If you follow us on any social media platform, you'll see one of my favorite places to decorate in New Orleans is Il Mercato. And for one of their recent tastings, Leaf + Petal NOLA wanted to create something a little different at the entrance than our typical floral archway framing the door (which is lovely by the way).
Since the vibe was 'garden party' - which is a theme, I'm sure you can imagine, we're quite good at - we wanted to design a set of large scale lush trees made up of trailing mixed greens and spring-hued florals to greet everyone at the entrance doors.
Just add simple planters and lush floral bases and voila.
our 'growing garden urn' decorating the Il Mercato mantel
We also wanted something a little different on the Il Mercato mantel, another iconic spot in New Orleans to decorate. Using one of our garden urns as a base, we created a flower install to look like the flowers were growing up the mantel corner.
And the rattan lanterns from Luminous were a fun garden-style touch!

But my favorite aspect of the entire Il Mercato Tasting Event was the chuppah covered in garden-style flowers. A large floral installation like this is interesting because it has the juxtaposition of being statement making and very impactful but, at the same time, creating a more intimate, smaller space.
Here we used the chuppah florals to frame a cake moment and showcased a beautiful cake by Bittersweet Confetions. And that cane table by Distressed I need in my home.

Outside of its typical use for a traditional Jewish ceremony, a chuppah (or dimensional arch), is a great way to highlight a specific aspect of your wedding. We've seen cake tables, bars, lounges and photo booths in them. Even large weddings can create intimate moments that feel intentional.
And that's a wrap on our garden-party event for the Il Mercato Tasting. To check out more of our work at Il Mercato, check out our venue portfolio.
