Our wedding at The Josephine was simple, thoughtful, and rooted in the beauty of the space itself. Set inside a restored historic church, the venue blends classic architecture with a clean, modern feel—making it a perfect backdrop for our neutral, modern design.

The overall approach was intentionally restrained. Soft whites and spring greens were layered throughout the day, adding warmth and texture while allowing the venue’s structure and details to remain the focus.

The Venue
With its soaring ceilings, arched details, and subtle gold accents, The Josephine feels grand without feeling formal. The light-filled interior keeps the space fresh and timeless, which guided every design decision.

Rather than filling the room with florals, placements were kept purposeful and balanced, designed to complement the architecture instead of competing with it.
Ceremony & Florals
Just days before the wedding, the couple’s original ceremony location unexpectedly cancelled, requiring a last-minute change of plans. The ceremony was moved to The Josephine’s courtyard—a pivot that ultimately felt meant to be.

As guests arrived, rain poured steadily, creating uncertainty right up until the final moments. Then, just as the ceremony was set to begin, the rain stopped and the sun came out, transforming the courtyard into a quiet, glowing space for the vows.
The ceremony was framed by a sculptural floral arch designed specifically for the courtyard setting. White roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, and fresh greenery were arranged in an organic yet controlled way, echoing the surrounding architecture while feeling natural and grounded.

The floral palette stayed consistent throughout the day—whites, ivories, and soft greens—while the bridal bouquet kept things clean and modern with white blooms and calla lilies.

Reception Design
For the reception, the focus was on comfort and simplicity. Low arrangements kept the room open and airy, while candlelight added warmth.

A lounge area softened the scale of the space, and a full floral installation along the stage grounded the room without overwhelming it.

A Quietly Elegant Celebration
This wedding was a reminder that a well-edited design can feel both elevated and effortless. By letting the venue lead and keeping the palette minimal, the result felt timeless, calm, and true to the space.
