Garden Party Meets Swamp at the Audubon Clubhouse

Some weddings are classic. Some are romantic. And some are full personality from start to finish — this was absolutely one of those.

This wedding started with a simple idea: garden meets swamp, but make it artistic, layered, and a little unexpected. The goal wasn’t “theme wedding.” It was more like stepping into a lush Louisiana dream — tropical greens, warm sunset tones, and little moments of surprise tucked everywhere.
And honestly? It ended up feeling like a living art installation.

The Bride (and Her Chartreuse Moment)
The bride is an artist, and you could feel that in every decision.
She wore a chartreuse gown (which was iconic, honestly). Against all the layered greens and warm florals, it just glowed. It felt bold but still organic — like it belonged in the space instead of competing with it.

Her bouquet pulled everything together: orchids, ranunculus, garden roses, calla lillies — soft neutrals mixed with pops of citrus and gold tones.
Garden, but with interest.

When the Bride Is an Artist
One of the coolest parts of this wedding: the bride literally created artwork that became part of the installs.
She creates alligator head lanterns, and we designed our florals around them — letting them peek out of greenery, hang inside installs, and glow once the light shifted later in the day.
It added this slightly swampy, slightly magical, very Louisiana storytelling layer that made everything feel super personal.

Garden + Swamp Ceiling Installation
We designed a lush ceiling installation over the entrance so guests stepped into the experience the moment they arrived. Layered tropical greenery, orchids, and warm sunset-toned blooms created this floating canopy effect — almost like walking under a living piece of art.
This is how a garden party meets swamp at the Audubon Clubhouse.

As guests passed underneath, they were surrounded by texture, movement, and little hidden details, setting the tone for the garden-meets-swamp atmosphere before they even reached the main space.
Ceremony + Outdoor Moments
For the ceremony, we leaned into grown-there, not placed-there design.

Ground pieces with monstera, orchids, garden roses, dried palm textures, and loose greenery made everything feel like it was part of the landscape — not competing with it.
Very “walk into the swamp but make it beautiful.”
The Little New Orleans Details
The phone booth moment. Instead of a traditional guest book, they brought in an antique phone booth and had a phone for guests to leave messages inside.

The sculptural green art piece surrounded by flowers.
The bride created a banana-leaf style lantern forhte entry for a floral moment when guests arrived. A nod to her craft and a point of interest for guests.

The cake + champagne + florals.
A vintage style cake with delicate accents and adorable cupcakes were a perfect end to the evening.

All of it layered together into something that felt curated but not overdone — playful, but still elevated.
Why We Loved This One
This wedding felt like the best version of what we love to do:
✔ Design that feels like an environment, not just décor
✔ Personal story woven into the installs
✔ Color that feels confident and intentional
✔ A little weird (in the best way)
✔ Very, very Louisiana
Garden meets swamp wasn’t just a look — it was a vibe. Romantic, artistic, a little wild, and completely unforgettable.
